Katherine Aldersley

Katherine is currently a less than full time Internal Medicine Trainee in Manchester and plans to pursue higher specialty training in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, having graduated from Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2019. She also holds a Master’s degree in Public Health for which she was awarded a Wolfson Foundation Research Fellowship for her research on the use of opportunistic patient health education materials. Following this, she worked with PREPARE on addressing barriers to clinical research responses in emerging epidemics.


In 2017, Katherine joined the HLA Scholars Programme. During this time, and whilst sitting on the FMLM Medical Student Committee, she conducted research into medical students’ experiences of leadership training during their undergraduate medical education. Outside of medicine, she has competed internationally in rifle shooting, including as the captain of the Great Britain Junior Team, and continues to coach young people through the Scouts Association.
