
Araya Medhanyie
Araya Abrha Medhanyie (PhD) is researcher and associate professor at Mekelle University in Tigray, Ethiopia. His academic and research interests focus mainly in Global Health. He is an expert in implementation research, diffusion of innovations and scale –up of proven health interventions. He has led a number of implementation research projects which are multidisciplinary and internationally funded projects. He has authored and co-authored about 85 articles which are published in international, reputable and peer reviewed journals. Currently, he is serving as head of the Maternal, Adolescent, Reproductive and Child health (MARCH) Research Center of Mekelle university. He is a senior researcher at the Digital Health and Innovation Center at the same university. He advises and mentors PhD students in global health, health systems, digital health and innovations affiliated with Mekelle University in Ethiopia, Leiden and Tilburg Universities in the Netherlands and University Stavanger in Norway. He is Health Care Leadership scholar of the Year 2022-23 at the Healthcare Leadership Academy (HLA) of the University of Lancashire (UClan) in London, UK.
