HLA Announcement on Going Virtual
In view of the ongoing implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, all HLA events will be delivered as virtual digital experiences until 31st January 2021. The HLA team will review the situation as the situation evolves and consider whether any extension to this time is required.
Given the nature of our programme, which sees healthcare professionals and students travelling to our various cohort sites, alongside the uncertainty of the times we are living in, we believe this is the appropriate decision. Our team are developing new and engaging approaches to ensure our scholarship programme and 2020 conference excel despite current circumstances.
The HLA have agreed with Medics Academy an extended programme of support including a grant of over £100,000 to support activities as part of the new Medics Academy charitable investment programme.
The HLA team are grateful to all of our faculty, scholars and contributors for continuing to innovate and iterate both our programme and community. We are also grateful for our partners at Medics Academy, HEE NE, HEE SW and the MDU for continuing to support the programme and allowing us to grow across the UK and internationally. Thanks to their support, over 100 2020-21 scholarships have been allocated to some of the best and brightest healthcare professionals and students from across the UK and Europe. With this support we continue to forge strong links and bonds between professionals focused on ensuring our health systems support global populations and societies now and into the future.

We are pleased to announce our upcoming HLA Open Day on 5th December 2020. This is a perfect opportunity for those who are considering if they may wish to apply for scholarship for 2021-22. The HLA recruitment window will open in March 2021.
This will be hosted virtually, with our partners at Medics.Academy. The event will bring together previous and current scholars, sharing their experiences of being a HLA scholar. You will learn more about the impact it’s had on their development, what to expect during the year-long programme and some of the projects that you can be involved in. Don’t be shy and come and say hi!
Please feel free to sign up and share with anyone that you think maybe interested in becoming a future HLA scholar.
